  1. Activating DLC Mid game I started a playthrough of CK2 as the Byzantine Emperor a while back. But now, I've just recently installed Conclave and the Reaper's Due (content packs included).
  2. I started a game with shattered realms rule set to yes just to try it out. I intended to change the Traditional Dynastic claims off, but I forgot. So now I have this high lordship of winterfell that I just got, yet the starks immediately get strong claim and press it with 8k soldiers.
  3. First, start a new game (not a serious one) and change all game rules as you want them in your old game, without Ironman. Start it and save it not compressed. If you haven't saved your old game in 2.6x yet, then do it and do NOT compress it. Now go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK2/save games and open both save files.

I really like the game rule feature, and after noticing that you could look at it from the culture/religion info screen, I realized that it might be convenient to change certain game rules mid-game.
The primary one I'm thinking about is the conclave education notifications, where, when you're a count, it might be feasible and even advantageous to micromange the education of every child in your court, but which gets extremely tedious as a king or emporer. The ability to change this rule mid-game would be nice, and changing this rule mid-game would not provide a major advantage. If you're concerned about people cheesing it, you could always make changing game rules break iron/bronzeman games. There are probably a few other game rules in a similar situation, but the conclave education one is the main one I thought would be both useful and not game-breaking.
TL;DR: Let us change our education pop-up game rule mid playthrough.

This page is intended to assist with editing the CKII Save File. If you want to edit a CKII save file, ensure you have saved without compressing the save game file. To achieve this, unclick the checkbox to the right of the save game filename entry box. Now you should be able to open and read the file in any text editor. Save files are impossible to edit if played in iron man mode. At the very top of your save file will be a list of the game rules in-use. One option is to start a new game with all the settings you want, and copy them over to replace the game rules in your other save. Or, you could look up the game rules in the game rules file and copy those.
